Clinical presentation
Infant with intermittent colicky abdominal pain, drawing up of the legs, a palpable mass and redcurrant-jelly stools.
Key imaging findings
- Target / doughnut sign on transverse ultrasound — concentric rings of bowel within bowel
- Pseudokidney sign on longitudinal imaging
- Trapped mesenteric fat and vessels within the intussusceptum
- Absent colonic gas / soft-tissue mass on abdominal radiograph
